Sysco was freed on August 29 from a horrible life secured to a tree with a heavy chain with not even so much as a dog house to protect him just dirt or mud for his bed. He was sick and wormy but NO heartworms! He was vetted and treated for the horrible wound on his neck, which is still healing. But oh, does he feel better! He is learning how to be a dog and now romps and plays and has a typical Labrador Retriever personality. He loves people and other dogs and has no ill will toward cats. He knows the basic commands Stay and Sit and enjoys playing fetch. He weighs 60-65 pounds and is a real joy in foster care. His former owner claims he is 14 years old, but we cant believe it. His teeth are in great condition and his eyes are clear. He has never shown any aggression or been possessive of his food. He loves treats and chew toys. We think this big old baby has lots of years to live and will make a great companion. His adoption fee is $150, which includes neutering, vetting, routine tests, vaccinations and microchip.
