Cairn Terrier - Small - Young - Male - Dog - MOXIE in TN

Moxie is a 2 year old wheaten Cairn, born April 2007. He was an owner surrender, that was attacked by the owner's other dogs. He has some scarring, but is completely healed and his hair is growing back to cover up the scars. He is absolutely adorable! He doesn't walk, or run; he prances! He is still shy of loud noises, and sometimes will not come in the door right away if you are standing there, but eventually, he comes in. Moxie is very playful and despite being attacked, plays VERY well with his foster sisters and brother. He loves to sleep in the bed with his foster mom, but beware - wherever he lands when you put him on the bed, is where he sleeps! So....don't put him in the spot you plan on sleeping in!! (He can be moved...he does not growl, etc.) Moxie is very loving and he has finally gotten over his shyness to the point where he follows his foster mom all over the house and tries to get her by the ankle sometimes! (Not biting, just playing and jumping). His potty habits are wonderful...he is in a home now where he can pretty much come and go outside as he pleases, so a home with a doggie door and fenced in yard would be ideal. His former foster mom reports that he hates the leash. Moxie MUST HAVE a fenced yard since he "freezes" when leashed". Please do not apply if you do not have a fenced yard. Moxie is very inquisitive, and likes to steal slippers and anything else laying around, but doesn't really chew on them. He doesn't bark a lot, but when he does, he sounds like he's been smoking for the past 20 years! Moxie is truly a delight and his forever home will have to be patient, because he will be extremely shy in the beginning and needs time to adjust and get used to new people and things. Once he has adjusted, he will be a great dog for the right family. Like all CRUSA dogs, Moxie is neutered, up to date on all vaccines and is on heartworm and flea preventative.
